Block Paving or Resin Bound?
- A resin bound surface is very easy to maintain and requires less work compared to block paving.
- Weed can grow through the gaps left by block paving, but resin bound avoid most weeds.
- Frequent pressure washing is required to keep the natural vibrancy of block paving, whereas resin bound only needs sweeping and the occasional low-pressure wash.
- Resin bound materials tend to be UV stable, meaning they won’t discolour in the sunlight.

The Difference Between Resin Bonded and Resin Bound
Resin bonded involves applying dry aggregate to a film of resin. With this method, there is potential for stones to become loose. This impermeable, single stone layer tends to have a rough finish.
Resin bound involves mixing aggregate materials. During this process, each stone is completely covered by resin and laid immediately to a permeable base, allowing for a smooth, stylish and colourful finish.
